First off, the Outback lineup is made of base, a rugged Wilderness, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, and Touring trim levels. All these models except the Wilderness will get a refreshed design which includes a new front fascia with large vertical pieces of unpainted cladding, a bigger grille, and redesigned headlights and fog lights. Under the hood of the car you so get a base 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder makes 182 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 176 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. There’s also a 2.4-liter turbocharged mill that produces 260 hp at 5,600 rpm and 277 lb-ft. at 2,000 rpm. Both engines choices are teamed with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and standard well known Subaru all-wheel drive. The Outback Onyx Version, which was previously only available with a turbo engine, will be getting a base naturally aspirated engine for the 2023 model. Stepping into the car, you will greeted by the optional 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system which now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For models with navigation, you will get a neat feature called ‘what3words‘, it allows users to find locations without a precise address by assigning a three-word code to 10×10-foot boxes on a map. In terms of safety, the 2023 Subaru Outback Touring model gains a wide-angle mono camera as part of the EyeSight driver-assist system, it enables a wider field of vision beyond what was achievable with the standard two forward-facing cameras of previous models. The Touring model also gets a digital rearview mirror with auto-dimming and a compass. Pricing and availability details were not released, however, it was confirmed that the 2023 Subaru Outback will be built at the company’s Lafayette, Indiana factory alongside the Ascent, Impreza, and Legacy.
