CANAL+ Group is thus pursuing its development strategy in Rwanda, a country where it has been present for 10 years, with a subsidiary CANAL+RWANDA established in 2020. Indeed, in addition to its commercial activities, the Group aims to launch soon an entertainment TV channel 100% in Kinyarwanda that will promote all Rwandan talents and productions. This acquisition allows CANAL+ Group to significantly strengthen its audio-visual activities in Rwanda by benefiting from a large content offer of more than 500 hours of new films and TV series produced per year and a catalogue of 700 hours, all in Kinyarwanda. ZACU Entertainment was created in 2017 by Wilson Misago, writer and producer of a successful TV series and founder of Rwanda’s first video-on-demand platform in 2019.
