Prodrive is the company that built the World Rally Championship (WRC) Imprezas that Subaru used in competitions. The company will create just 25 examples of this all-wheel-drive, 400-horsepower, 443 pound-feet of torque road monsters. The P25 has an original Subaru Impreza WRX chassis at its core but its missing the iconic gold coloured rims, but that’s an easy fix for buyers. Only three images have been released, none of them shows the interior. The P25’s more contemporary 2.5-liter engine, which has been rebuilt with bespoke internals and variable cam timing, is what gives the vehicle its 400 horsepower rating. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds when combined with a six-speed automated sequential manual transmission with paddle shifters that can automatically upshift during launches. Additionally, it has all-wheel drive, which is a trademark of Subaru performance vehicles. Almost every exterior body part, including the massive WRC rear wing, is made of carbon composite. The door cards and optional lightweight seats inside add to the overall weight reduction. At around 1,200 kilograms (2,646 pounds), the Prodrive P25 weighs about 200 pounds (91 kilograms) less than the Impreza 22B. This Thursday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Prodrive P25 will make its formal debut. Pricing in the UK is set at £460,000, or little more than $560,000. First customer deliveries are expected to begin late this year.
