This year, Itel sponsored the Embu Rugby sevens, an event that was held last weekend from 1st -2nd July, at the Embu stadium. The competition brought together more than 15 rugby teams from universities, high schools and other institutions across the country. The best player was awarded the newly launched selfie focused smartphone, the Itel S31. In addition, referees were given t-shirts while other lucky attendees got giveaways through participating in different games. The company had held a similar event dubbed’ Eldoret Rugby Sevens’ which attracted more tha 12,000 fans and enthusiasts from all over the country. During this event, Itel’s brand ambassador, Avril, was on attendance, you can find her music and selfies preloaded into the Itel S31 smartphone. The company plans to support Kenyan youth through sponsorship in other types of sports as well. “Being part of sports growth is something that we believe will offer the young players the opportunity to work in a competitive environment. It will also help develop their talents and showcase them at international level in the future,” said Mr Muiru, Itel Mobile Kenya Digital Marketing Manager.
