Powering the SUV is a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that gives 245 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, this is a 35 percent increase in power and a 50 increase in torque compared to the civilian G-wagen. The engine is coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission. To aid in off-roading the W464 has lean angles of up to 45°,   a high ground clearance and rigid axles at the front and rear. Despite the hardcore military specs, modern touches like LED lighting are still present. More features include engine cooling for hot climates and in cold weather, it has glove-compatible controls plus a new track width for better performance with snow chains. In addition, the SUV has an emergency override switch (EOS) and a 24 V onboard power supply. There will be two versions of the W464 ; a station wagon (BA06) or a two-door cab (BA09). The station wagon can seat 4 and a best in class payload of up to 1 tonne, of this up to 200 kilograms can be carried on the roof. On the other hand, the two- door cab takes the payload further up to 2.5 tonnes. This special military G-wagen will be exclusively available to government agencies and militaries.
