The Kenyan government is apparently considering alternatives for establishing a Start-ups Advisory Board to aid the development of scientific parks and other sectors of innovation in the region, according to the ICT Ministry. Mucheru This was revealed by ICT CS Joe Mucheru, who was speaking at Konza Technopolis during the annual International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) Africa Division Conference. Nigerian-based startup, Betastore has secured a $2.5 million in pre-series A funding with a bid to expand to Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Cameroon by the end of this year The fund was secured from 500 Global, VestedWorld, and Loyal VC., and this brought its total fundraising to date to $3 million. O3 Capital has launched a non- bank Credit Card into the Nigerian market, as part of its strategy to uphold the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cashless policy. The cards operate on an interswitch, meaning it can be used on all ATMs, POS, internet payment sites in Nigeria.
