We had all initially expected Samsung to unveil the new Galaxy Tab S6 tablet and Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatch alongside the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7, but the company will now unveil those former products ahead of its next smartphone. Admittedly it’s currently unclear if the company will be hosting a Livestream or if the details will just drop on the company’s website. The new teaser and blog show off the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and Galaxy Watch Active 2 without naming either of the devices. The video is titled The New Galaxy Tab & Watch though. As much as the 20-second teaser shows a tablet with Samsung’s S Pen stylus and gives us a quick glimpse at the edges of the device. “Take a first look at the new Galaxy Tab, our all-new tablet that inspires creativity and elevates your productivity to another level.” This is the video description Samsung has written. The official teaser also reveals that the Galaxy Tab S6 will launch on July 31 while the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be unveiled on August 5, two days ahead of the Galaxy Note 10 launch event. The blog post adds that the new devices cater to the generation that wants the power to create and consume wherever they are. Samsung is allowing for interconnectedness anytime, enabling users to seamlessly merge work and play, and ensuring peace of mind at all times. Looks like a major detail of what is left to know about the devices, for now, is the final price and availability details. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 has been leaked several times, including a live image and some key features. We can make out from the teaser that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will feature a heart rate sensor, possibly with an EKG monitor, and a glass watch face that goes until the edges. Noticeably, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S6 has received more screen time in the new official teaser. The tablet features a dual rear camera setup, a magnetically attached keyboard, and the S Pen hooked to the back of the tablet. In the teaser, both the devices appear turned off. Earlier this week, we saw freshly leaked images of the Galaxy Tab S6 on Twitter which seems to complete the picture on the South Korean maker’s new iPad Pro rival. For example, only a few days earlier respected leakster Evan Blass posted what are almost certainly press renders of the new tablet, which not only showed the tablet but even revealed some of its features; like the in-display fingerprint reader. The leaked renders revealed the tablet’s color options and the S Pen arrangement. The presence of a dual rear camera setup was also confirmed. The Tab S6’s internal hardware spec was also revealed by the leaks. Galaxy Tab S6 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and is powered by a large 7,040mAh battery. Its screen is a 10.5-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution of 2560 x 1600, while it weighs 420g, meaning it is lighter than the Tab S4 which weighed 482g. The Tab S6 offers 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage configurations, which is expandable by microSD to 512GB. Audio is handled by four AKG-tuned speakers, and Samsung DeX and stylus support are once more delivered, too. Samsung’s AI assistant, Bixby is also part of the features on the Galaxy Tab S6. The Tab S6 has been confirmed in press renders to come in both grey and pink color schemes.
