Just days after WhatsApp stopped cropping images and videos that you send in chats, Twitter has announced that it’s doing the same. The change is rolling out on iOS and Android in the next few weeks and means that your single images won’t be cropped anymore – they will look the same in the composer, as they do on your timeline. The change will make many photographers, artists, and social media managers very happy as their tall images will appear on Twitter exactly the way they imagined.

Up until now, 16:9 and 4:3 aspect-ratio images appeared cropped in the Twitter timeline and would only appear fully when a user tapped on the cropped preview. Twitter initially announced a test for this change last month – around the same time it announced the ability to upload and view 4K images on its platform.
